A Taste of Hospitality: An Interview with Bruce Cohn / the BR Cohn Winery Story
Over the six-year run of the nationally syndicating the hour-long radio program, Lobster’s Rock Box, our host recorded interviews with many Bay Area music notables. He sat down with Bruce Cohn in his office at the Olive Hill Estate, and the conversation ranged from Bruce’s childhood in Sonoma thru his career as the Doobie Brothers manager To his becoming the proprietor of the BR Cohn Winery and the BR Cohn Olive Oil Company. This is the latter part of that long, insightful and fun conversation. If you listen closely, you may hear The dog tags jingle when Bruce’s late, great four-legged companion, Moose, moved around a bit at the foot of Bruce’s desk!
The story Bruce tells here is classic. Only a small part of the total interview recorded that day. The rest is on his history with the Doobie Brothers. Many of the interviews will be archived on line eventually.
Even though I did the interview, edited it and have heard it many times, I really enjoy listening to it.
IF the idiots who set music royalty rates didn’t make it cost prohibitive, I’d archive the soundbite and music used for the radio shows. Enjoy.
